Sam Vazquez Wins National Championship in 1,000m

On March 5, 2011, Sam Vazquez capped his Embry-Riddle career by winning the NAIA National Indoor title in the 1,000m run. Vazquez became the first student-athlete to bring home a national championship in men's track and field and the 2:24.61 time he posted in the championship race still stands as the Embry-Riddle indoor record.
