DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Four Embry-Riddle student-athletes claimed Sun Conference weekly honors on Monday as announced by the league office
. Simon Felix (men's tennis), Hui-l Huang (women's tennis), Kevin Lindheim (baseball - player) and Eric Green (baseball - pitcher). It marked the first time in the respective careers of Huang, Lindheim and Green that they earned conference weekly honors.
Felix won all eight of his matches during the week, helping the Blue and Gold to a 3-1 record on the week. The junior did not drop a single game in singles or doubles against NAIA No. 14 Olivet Nazarene and won his singles match against NCAA I Belmont's Navarro Veys, 6-0, 6-1.
Huang helped the Eagles to a 2-0 record on the week, defeating No. 21 St. Thomas and No. 15 Olivet Nazarene. The redshirt freshman registered an upset of the No. 2 singles player in the nation, STU's Tetiana Kovalska, 6-2, 6-7, 10-6. Two days later, she defeated No. 14 Azizi Butoya of ONU in two sets, 7-6, 6-0.
Lindheim was a big reason the Eagles went 9-0 last week, collecting 12 hits in 27 at-bats, driving in nine RBIs and scoring seven runs. Lindheim drew six walks and also started on the mound in ERAU's 3-2 win over Clarke (Iowa).
A native of DeLand, Fla., Green was nearly perfect in six relief appearances for the Eagles last week. The senior lefty tossed 8.0 innings, allowing just one run on three hits while fanning eight. Green earned back-to-back saves against Aquinas and No. 6 Point Park before earning the win against the Pioneers in the second game of a doubleheader.
