LEWISTON, Idaho - Following Embry-Riddle's semifinal finish at the 2013 Avista-NAIA World Series, senior third baseman
Jeff Lemon was named to the 16-member World Series All-Tournament team for his performance in the Eagles' four contests in the event. Lemon becomes the first Blue and Gold player since the trio of Mike Jutkiewicz, Steve Sabins and Phillip Reamy in 2010 to be earn All-Tournament team accolades.
A senior from Bunnell, Fla., Lemon finished the World Series 8-for-17, hitting safely in all four games for Embry-Riddle while stretching his team-leading hit streak to 10 contests. Lemon helped drive in five runs and scored two himself while fielding 1.000 over the final three games of the tournament.
Lemon put forth one of the best offensive seasons in Embry-Riddle history as a senior, finishing the year with 88 hits in 246 at-bats with 53 RBIs and just six strikeouts. His .358 batting averaged paced the 2013 Eagles while his .416 on-base percentage was tied for second on the squad. Along with teammates
Kyle Chastain and
Kevin Lindheim, Lemon started in all 65 games for the Blue and Gold this spring, tying the record for most games played in a single season. His 246 at-bats were the second-most in Eagle single season history while his 88 hits tied for the seventh-highest total of all-time.
Lemon was named a first team All-Sun Conference performer as a senior after a second team All-Conference effort as a junior.
