MARION, Ind. - Sophomore Vincent Bett became the Eagles' first All-American in the 3000m Steeplechase in 2013, placing third at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in May.

Bett, who hails from Moi's Bridge, Kenya, transfered to Embry-Riddle after a freshman campaign at Middle Tennessee State and immediately made his impact on the Eagles' cross country squad, becoming The Sun Conference Newcomer of the Year and an All-Conference performer. Bett followed up his impressive fall with a record-breaking performance in the Steeplechase at the Georgia Tech Invitational on May 10. Bett broke the school record with a "A" standard of 9:14.99 at the NCAA I meet.

Bett wasn't done there, breaking his own record on the final day of the national meet, finishing in 9:10.55, just four seconds behind the second-place finisher.
