Mike Edwards tripled the number of men's track & field individual national titles in Embry-Riddle program history in the spring of 2013, sweeping both the indoor and outdoor High Jump crowns as a senior.
The Manchester, England native became the first male Eagle to win an individual field championship with a jump of 2.18m at the 2013 NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Geneva, Ohio, breaking the school record in the process.
Edwards duplicated his impressive feat during the outdoor season, jumping 2.16m and just missing the 2.22m mark that would have tied the meet record.Â
The Blue and Gold jumper became just the third male Eagle in Embry-Riddle Athletics' history to win multiple individual national championships, joining Mislav Hizak (men's tennis) and Patrick Besch (men's tennis).
