GENEVA, Ohio -
Nicole Bonk had already etched her name into the Embry-Riddle and NAIA record books, claiming the 2012 Indoor Race Walk and 2012 Outdoor Race Walk national titles as a junior. But the Eagle from Chalfont, Pa. had some more history to make in 2013.
As a senior, Bonk broke not only the NAIA record at the Indoor National Championships, but the collegiate record, posting a time of 13:53.63, three seconds better than the previous record that stood for 11 years. Bonk blew away the field, winning the title by more than 22 seconds and setting the new collegiate record.
Bonk became the third Eagle and second women's track & field athlete to claim three NAIA national titles.
