No. 1 @ERAUWSoccer to Host Reinhardt in National Tournament Opening Round

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The top-ranked Embry-Riddle women's soccer team will host Reinhardt in the National Championship Opening Round, the NAIA announced on Monday. The Eagles earned the top seed based on their Modified Ratings Percentage Index, which consists of the team's modified winning percentage, their opponents' winning percentage and the cumulative ratings points from the NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll. The Blue and Gold will host one of 15 Opening Round matches being held at various campus sites around the country on Nov. 22. Kick-off for the ERAU/Reinhardt contest is slated for 6 p.m.

Reinhardt will be a familiar foe for the ERAU women as the two teams faced each other in Opening Round play in 2013 when ERAU walked away with a 6-0 victory.

The Embry-Riddle Eagles secured an automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament by capturing the 2014 Sun Conference regular season title with a 2-0 defeat of Northwood on Nov. 5. Head Coach Samantha Bohon's squad is 16-1 on the year, including a perfect 9-0 mark in league play, and is currently riding a 12-match winning streak. Embry-Riddle, who advanced to the national tournament quarterfinals in 2013, will be making the program's 11th national championship appearance and is the tournament's No. 1 seed for the first time in program history.

Reinhardt is making its third national tournament appearance. Andy Kaplan's team punched its ticket with a 2-0 win over St. Andrews in the championship game of the Appalachian Athletic Conference tournament. Reinhardt brings a 15-3-2 overall record into national tournament play.

The winner of Saturday's contest will advance to the national championship final site at the Orange Beach Sportsplex in Orange Beach, Ala. The 16-team, single-elimination tournament takes place Dec. 1-6.
