KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Embry-Riddle baseball team will make its 13th and final appearance at the Avista-NAIA World Series in the coming weeks, and will do so as the No. 6 seed. The Eagles (39-17) swept through the Daytona Beach Bracket of the NAIA National Championship Opening Round, posting wins over Bryan (Tenn.) and Rio Grande (Ohio) to claim the program's seventh trip in eight seasons to Lewiston, Idaho for the 10-team World Series. The Blue and Gold will meet a new team in the Tabor College (Kan.) Bluejays as the two schools have never met previously on the baseball diamond
The Bluejays (53-10) claimed both the regular season and tournament titles in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference, earning an automatic berth to the Bellevue Bracket of the Opening Round. Tabor came out of the loser's bracket to defeat the host Bruins twice in the championship to earn the team's second straight World Series berth
Embry-Riddle and Tabor will square off on Friday, May 22 at Harris Field on the campus of host school Lewis-Clark State College. Game time is slated for 3 p.m. (PT)
The Eagles are 19-24 all-time in the World Series, finishing as the runner-up in 2005 and in the final four a total of five times.
