Jourden and Maraccini Join @ERAUWLax Inaugural Roster

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Embry-Riddle Women's Lacrosse Head Coach Marissa Giannerini continues to announce signees for the program's inaugural roster in 2017-18 and Meg Jourden and Gianna Maraccini are the latest duo to sign letters of intent to play for the Blue and Gold.

A 5-6 midfield/attacking player from Powder Springs, Georgia, Jourden graduated with honors from Hillgrove High School in May 2017. Her senior season saw the attacker/midfielder register 45 goals, 17 assists, 50 draw controls, 70 ground balls and 28 caused turnovers.

"Meg is pure personality and although she comes off quiet don't let her shyness fool you, she is waiting for a moment to strike," Giannerini said. "This speaks both for how she is on and off the field. Meg is a work horse and should not be underestimated. Her gas tank never runs out and she will definitely set the pace for our midfielders."

Jourden plans to major in Mechanical Engineering.

Maraccini is a 5-1 attacker from Las Vegas, Nevada and a 2017 graduate of Centennial High School. Maraccini was a two-time All-League selection during her time with the Southern Nevada Women's High School Lacrosse team as a freshman and sophomore as she helped lead them to two second-place showings. She was a starter for the third-place Women's Open Division team Surfstorm in 2015 and a starter on the league champion squad at the Encore Las Vegas Showcase in 2016. Maraccini also played flag football and participated in track and field during her high school career.

"I could only hope to be as cool as Gianna," Giannerini said. "She is one of a kind and has some serious moves. She is the first player I have had on any of my teams from Las Vegas and she definitely has style both on and off the field. Gianna grew up wrestling and her athleticism translated well on to the lacrosse field. Embry-Riddle is a perfect fit for her as she wants to study aviation and I cannot wait to see what she creates!"

Maraccini will major in Aeronautical Science.
