MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle women's Varsity Eight was named the Sunshine State Conference Boat of the Week on Monday, the first-ever weekly award for the ERAU Rowing program.
The boat, led by coxswain Kathyn Chilelli, along with rowers
Lauren Stollenwerk,
Jordan Pfile,
Megan Swam,
Diana Perera, Athena Padiotis,
Kaya Treder,
Rachel Hemsworth, and
Madeline Casper, won the Varsity Eight race against the University of South Florida on Saturday, crossing the line in 6:49.9, nearly 25 seconds ahead of USF's time of 7:14.05.
Chilelli, Stollenwerk, Treder, and Padgiotis, along with
Kara Landing, also won the Novice Four race later in the day, capping a three-race sweep for the Blue and Gold.
