Women’s Rowing Inks Five for 2018-19

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Embry-Riddle Director of Rowing Jamie Francis has the announced the signing of five individuals for 2018-19. Jodie Harmon, Alyssa Hodum, Sydney Link, Tracy Loeffler and Bethany Thompson have all signed letters of intent to compete for the Eagles beginning in 2018-19.


 
Jodie Harmon
Harmon hails from Peachtree City, Georgia and is a multi-sport athlete who rows for Head Coach Matt Fanny at the Peachtree City Rowing Club. She is also a member of her high school's volleyball and tennis teams, as well as the National Spanish Honor Society.
Harmon will graduate from McIntosh High School in May and will major in Aviation Business Management at Embry-Riddle.

Alyssa Hodum
Hodum is her senior year at James W. Robinson, Jr. Secondary School in Fairfax, Virginia. She is a three-year varsity letterwinner on Head Coach Kevin Murphy's Robinson Secondary crew team and also rows for Ron Lim and the Resilient Rowing club program. She is an International Baccalaureate Candidate and National Honor Society member who will major in Spaceflight Operations Management.

Sydney Link
Link comes to Daytona Beach from Mason, Ohio where she attends William Mason High School. She rowed for Coach Kyle Stanley and the Great Miami Crew Club and was part of the team that won the 2017 Rowing Team Nail Award. Link expects to major in Mechanical Engineering.

Tracey Loeffler
Loeffler has rowed for Johns Creek High School for four seasons and was a varsity rower at the St. Andrews Rowing Club. The Alpharetta, Georgia native plans to major in Aerospace and Occupational Safety.

Bethany Thompson
A native of Englewood, Ohio, Thompson will graduate from Northmont High School in May. Thompson has rowed for the Greater Dayton Rowing Association under the guidance of Head Coach Abby Beach and she helped that club program take first place in the Novice 4+ at the 2017 Midwest Regatta. Thompson is a member of the National and Spanish Honor Societies, has been honored as a scholar-athlete and was awarded All-America honors in cheerleading.
Thompson will major in Aerospace Engineering.
