Hobbs Twins Sign With @ERAUTennis

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Embry-Riddle Head Tennis Coach Dave Paschal announced the signing of Jefferson and Jillian Hobbs to the men's and women's team, respectively on Monday. Originally from North Carolina, the twins currently reside in Niceville, Florida where they were both homeschooled, and will begin their Embry-Riddle careers in the fall of 2018.
 
Jefferson is a two-time Northwest Florida Daily News Player of the Year who has lost just four matches in his high school career. He was the Florida state runner-up as a junior and was favored to win the tournament in his senior year before he was forced to withdraw due to an injury. He ranked as high as No. 139 on the Tennis Recruiting Networks' Class of 2018 list, and was ranked No. 65 in the Southeast.
 
Jillian was named the Northwest Florida Daily News Tennis Player of the Year four times. She is undefeated in regional matches played over the last four years, and has four district titles in singles and two district titles in doubles to her credit. A two-sport athlete lettering in tennis and cross country, Jillian was named to the Northwest Florida State College Dean's List five times and is a five-time scholar-athlete.
 
Jillian and Jefferson will be the third brother/sister duo to don an Embry-Riddle tennis uniform, the other pairings being Andrew (2004-06) and Lindsey (2006-08) Kurtz, and Juan (2015- present) and Paula (2013-17) Ortiz Couder. Both Jillian and Jefferson plan to major in Aviation Business Administration at Embry-Riddle.
