AUSTIN, Texas - Ryan Szklany becomes just the third Embry-Riddle student-athlete ever to claim Collegiate Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America honors for the fourth time in his Blue and Gold career. Szklany was named a first team CSC Academic All-American on Thursday, marking his second straight first team accolade, and his fourth time being named an Academic All-American, the highest academic and athletic honor in collegiate sports.

Szklany competed for Mike Rosolino's cross country and track & field squads from 2018-22, wrapping up his collegiate career this past fall for the Eagle cross country team. The first Embry-Riddle harrier to ever earn All-Conference honors five times, Szkalny graduated from the program as one of the most decorated athletes in school history, having earned SSC All-Championship Team accolades five times in addition to his five all-conference awards (four first team honors), and the SSC Freshman of the Year award in 2018. Szklany owns two of the top-20 8K marks in school history, and four of the top-20 10K times.

The Lighthouse Point, Florida native was also a standout on the track for the Blue and Gold, earning UTFCCCA All-Region honors in the 3,000m and 5,000m, and twice being named the Peach Belt Conference Elite 16 Award winner.

Szklany's academic awards are numerous, starting with his now four Academic All-America honors. He was a PBC Team of Academic Distinction awardee, a D2ADA Academic Achievement Award winner, a Sunshine State Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll member, a member of the UTSTFCCCA Academic All-Region squad, the Steve & Vicky Ridder Scholarship winner, among many other honors. He graduated with his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Engineering, boasting a perfect 4.0 GPA throughout his academic career.

Szklany becomes the 12th two-time first team Academic All-American and just the third Eagle to claim four Academic All-America honors (Zachary Kraus, Ellie Staker). Szklany's AAA honor brings Embry-Riddle's all-time total to 102, the most in the Sunshine State Conference, and second most of any school in the state of Florida, trailing only the University of Florida's 158 total honors.
