Men’s Golf Begins Play at Citrus Intercollegiate

CHAMPIONSGATE, Fla. - After two rounds at the Citrus Intercollegiate, Embry-Riddle men's golf sits in 12th with 608 (301-307) strokes. The 16-team field includes notable competitors such as No. 8 Lincoln Memorial and No. 21 Nova Southeastern, according to the latest Clippd rankings. Play is being held at the par-72, 7,086-yard ChampionsGate Golf Club. 

As a team, the Blue and Gold found success on par-5s. The Eagles shot one under collectively on such holes, which was the third-best in the competition.

Ian Ball (73-73) sits on the fringe of the top 10 in a tie for 12th after shooting a 146. In both rounds, the junior shot two under over the last four holes, birdieing his 15th and 16th holes on both occasions. Ball tied for the most birdies (7) on the team with Joon Kim ( 75-77=152). Both Eagles also performed well on par-5s. They averaged 4.63 strokes, tied for the third-lowest mark out of 84 individuals. Kim also closed round one strong by going one under par in the final five holes.

Tiago Barni improved on his first-round total of 81 with a 77 in round two for 158 shots. He started the tournament with a birdie and four pars in his first five holes. Barni recorded ERAU's lone eagle of the day on the par-5, 530-yard eighth hole in round two.

Edoardo Scialanga (78-80) also shot a 158. The Rome, Italy product was one below par over his last four holes in round one and his last five holes in round two. Ryan Gear (75-86) ended his first round in solid fashion with 10-straight pars. He finished Monday with 161 strokes. 

Lincoln Memorial (577) has a six-shot lead over Cameron (583) with Rollins (588) in third. 

Only four individuals sit in the red led by Rollins' RJ Glod and Keiser's Yann Ferrando at three under par (141).

The third and final round begins on Tuesday at 8:20 a.m. Embry-Riddle is paired with Barry and Eckerd on holes 13 through 15.
