Tennis Teams Garner ITA Academic Accolades

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Embry-Riddle's men's and women's tennis programs have both been recognized as 2012 All-Academic Teams by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. The announcement comes after both programs were counted among the nine Embry-Riddle teams receiving Scholar Team recognition by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.
 
The men's tennis team posted the highest team grade point average of any ERAU team with a 3.59. Patrick Besch (3.6, Business Administration), Simon Felix (3.7, Air Traffic Management), Chris Freeman (3.647, Aeronautical Science) and David Spennare (3.97, Business Administration) added to their 2012  season accolades as they were also named ITA All-America Scholar Athletes.
 
The women, led by a 4.0 GPA in Human Factors Psychology by Elise Lagerstrom, turned in a 3.38 team grade point average. Lagerstrom topped the list of ERAU ITA All-America Scholar-Athletes, which included, Kristina Marova (3.806, Business Administration), Landyn Scudder (3.52, Air Traffic Management), Rocio Frej Vitalle (3.556 Aerospace Engineering) and Josefine Strom  (3.571, Business Administration).
