DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Denny Joseph finished with 19 points in 22 minutes of action off the bench to help lead the Embry-Riddle University men's basketball team to an 81-58 victory against Johnson & Wales University Tuesday night at the ICI Center.

Embry-Riddle (2-0) surged ahead early in the contest 17-4 and never looked back building a 38-22 lead at the intermission. Denver Cobb (Port Orange, Fla./Father Lopez HS) registered all 10 of his points in the first half including two three-point buckets. Nick Miller chipped in seven in the first half with four boards and Tyler DeBord added six points and three rebounds. The Eagles grabbed the lead thanks to strong defensive pressure limiting JWU to just 22.6 percent shooting (7-for-31).
