TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. ? Juniors Rocky Pierre and Denver Cobb each tallied 18 points in the Eagles sixth consecutive win of the 2007-08 season, topping the Florida College Falcons on Nov. 27, 92-69.
Cobb began the game with one of his four three-pointers and was soon matched by Jesse Hastings of Florida College to tie the game at the 19-minute mark. Tyler Debord scored in the paint on the Eagles' next possession beginning a 9-0 run. Debord marked 10 points in the first half and all of his 14 points came from the paint.
The Eagles led 55-29 at the half, shooting 50 percent before the intermission, and 40 percent from behind the arc. They completed the game shooting 46.7 percent from the field and hit one third of their three-point attempts.
ERAU led by as much as 34 points in the second half before taking all of the starters out of the game. The Falcons scored eleven of their 69 points in the last four minutes of the game, closing out the game on an 11-2 run.
Pierre and Cobb not only led the team in points, they also combined for eight of the Eagles 14 steals, leading the team with four each. Eric Lorenzi led the team with eight boards. He also had 10 points in the game. Ryan Ridder dished out eight of the teams 30 assists. He also had three steals and five boards.
The non-starters came off the bench to score 28 points, led by junior Danny Deaver with 12 points. All of his points came from beyond the three-point line, marking his third game in double-figures this season.
Embry-Riddle will return to action on Friday, Nov. 30, acting as the host school for the 2007 Daytona Mitsubishi Shoot-Out. They will face-off against Graceland University (Iowa) at 8 p.m. The first game will feature Carroll College (Mont.) against Brewton-Parker (Ga.) at 6 p.m.
