Women's Tennis Tops. St. Thomas 8-1

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The 11th-ranked Embry-Riddle women's tennis team extended its conference record to 3-0 with an 8-1 victory over St. Thomas, Thursday at Crotty Tennis Complex.

ERAU went up 2-1 after capturing wins at the No. 2 and No.3 doubles positions. Anna Haller and Marga Rico Jimenez dispatched Sandra Vargas and San-nise Crosby at the No. 3 spot, while Hana Im and Kerinn Meisenbach downed Natalia Ramirez and Adriana Montanilla 8-2 at No.2.

Rico Jimenez was first off the court in singles play topping Crosby 6-0, 6-0. Meisenbach followed with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Montilla, and Natalie Anaya downed Sasha Dzvganova 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. The clincher came at the No. 3 spot with Lindsay Kurtz defeating 6-3, 6-3. Im and Sara Abraul sealed the victory with 6-0, 6-1 and 8-1 wins, respectively.

The Eagles return to action at 2 p.m. on Saturday when they travel to Savannah, Ga. to take on conference rival, No. 6 Savannah College of Art and Design.
