SAVANNAH, Ga. ? The 11th-ranked Embry-Riddle women's tennis team suffered its first conference loss of the season at the hands of No. 6 Savannah College of Art and Design on Saturday. The Bees (4-0 overall, 4-0 in the FSC) topped the Eagles (3-3 overall, 3-1 in the FSC) 8-1 to capture at least a share of the Florida Sun Conference crown.
The Eagles won the No. 1 doubles match as Natalie Anaya and Lindsey Kurtz defeated Irina Pljusznyin and Chloe Lipp 9-7. But the Bees fought back to win at the other two doubles positions and took all six singles matches, including Pljusznyin's three-set victory over Hana Im, 6-1, 1-6, 7-6 (6).
Embry-Riddle's next match will be at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday when they travel to Winter Park to take on No. 21 Rollins.
