DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. ? The 10th-ranked Embry-Riddle women's tennis team won all three doubles points en route to a 6-3 victory over No. 22 Northwood in Florida Sun Conference action on Saturday. The win secured second place in the league for the Eagles and improved their record to 10-7 overall (4-1 in the FSC), while the Seahawks fell to 7-7.
Natalie Anaya and Lindsay Kurtz topped Adrianna Herron and Natalie Dono 9-7 at No. 1 doubles. Hana Im and Kerinn Meisenbach defeated Mikaela Seger and Alejandra Ripoll 8-1, and Marga Rico Jimenez and Anna Haller downed Shayain Gustavso and Michelle Aybar 8-3 at the No. 3 spot.
The Eagles won singles points at the top two spots as Im beat Seger 6-1, 6-2 and Anaya downed Dono 6-1, 6-1.
The Seahawks notched wins at the No. 3-5 positions as Ripoll held of Kurtz 4-6, 7-5, 10-8, Herron topped Meisenbach 6-4, 6-1, and Aybar bested Rico-Jimenez 6-0, 6-4.
Sara Abraul sealed the win for the Blue and Gold at No. 6 as she defeated Therese Svensson 6-2, 6-3.
The Eagles close out the regular season at 3 p.m. on Wednesday when the host Florida Gulf Coast at the Crotty Tennis Complex.
