No. 4 Embry-Riddle Rolls Past Fisher, 97-49

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. ? The Embry-Riddle men's basketball team rebounded from its first loss of the season on Wednesday to defeat Fisher (Mass.) 97-49 in the first round of the Carrabba's Classic, Friday at the ICI Center. All 12 players who got on the court for the Eagles tallied at least two points and saw at least 10 minutes of action as fourth-ranked ERAU improved its overall record to 14-1.

The Eagle defense held the Falcons to just 18.2 percent shooting in the first half, while the Eagle offense shot 48.7 percent from the field for the game, including a 52.5 percent clip in the second half.

Tyler DeBord led all scorers with 21 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to record his second double-double of the year. Four other Embry-Riddle players had double-figure nights, including Eric Lorenzi (11 pts) and Ryan Ridder who had a season-high 11 points to go with four rebounds and four assists. Danny Deaver and Ryan Christian each contributed 11 points off the bench and grabbed eight and seven boards, respectively.

The Falcons scored the first bucket of the game and were within five points at the 15-minute mark of the first half, but that was as close as they would get as the Eagles went on a 36-7 run to take a 49-15 lead at the half.

The Embry-Riddle offense continued to dominate in the second half. Fisher's Louis Williams and Greg Avila combined for five three-point baskets in a four-minute stretch, but it was not enough to catch the Eagles who scored in excess of 90 points for the ninth time this season.

The Eagles close out play in the Carrabba's Classic against Johnson and Wales (Fla.) at 8 p.m. on Saturday. The Wildcats took Union (Ky.) to overtime before falling 87-81 in Friday's early game.

Fisher (2-10) will play Union at 6 p.m.
