No. 2 Eagles Defeat No. 19 Seahawks 9-0

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. ? The second-ranked Embry-Riddle men's tennis team registered its second straight shutout of the season, blanking No. 19 Northwood 9-0 in Florida Sun Conference action on Sunday. The Eagles breezed through doubles and won all six singles points in straight sets to improve to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in league play.

In doubles action, the second-ranked duo of Mislav Hizak and Konstantin Lazarov downed Andreas Parschau and Jonathan Evans 8-2, Carlos Bes Comeras and Jan Hoekzema defeated Kevin Butler and Gabriel Cernea 8-1 and Istvan Bolgar and Tomoaki Yasuda bested Jose Castro and Alex Dunn 8-2.

No. 33 Bolgar pushed the score to 4-0 with a 6-0, 6-0 shutout of Alex Dunn at the No. 6 spot, and for the second match in a row, Bes Comeras, ranked No. 16 in the ITA preseason poll, scored the clincher with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Castro at the third position.

The Eagles are back in action at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday when they host Rollins at the Crotty Tennis Complex. Rollins is currently ranked 10th in the NCAA II.
