Eagles Fly Over Seahawks, Gallop Records 100th Career Win

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The Embry-Riddle volleyball team soared over conference opponent Northwood, 3-0, marking Head Coach Joslynn Gallop's 100th career win and moving the Eagles' conference stand to an undefeated 12-0.

The Eagles took control early and held the Seahawks to just 14 points in set one. Abby Hall highlighted Eagle play, tallying five kills and six digs, while Kristen Hassett started as the Eagles' setter and dished out 13 assists.

Set two saw all three outside hitters step up their offensive game, as Hall matched her kill total in set one (5), and Jordan Holcomb and Taylor Martin combined for seven kills. Julia Frassetto led in the backrow, picking up seven digs for the Eagles. The Seahawks battled their way to a 22-21 lead late in the second set, but Holcomb was too much on the right side, as she drilled two balls through Northwood's block and put the Eagles back in the lead. Savannah Trakes stepped to the serving line for set point and secured the 25-22 win for the Eagles.

The Eagles jumped out to an 8-1 lead in the final set and didn't give the Seahawks an opportunity to reclaim the lead. Holcomb led the Eagle attack, converting on five of her eight attempts, guiding the Eagles to a 25-15 victory.

The Eagles' saw impressive play from the outsides, as Hall, Holcomb, and Martin each recorded double-digit kills in the three-set match with 13, 12, and 11, respectively. Senior setter Hassett marked a career-high 38 assists for the Blue and Gold, leading the Eagles' to their 15th win of the season.
