DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The Embry-Riddle Eagles came out strong Friday night at the ICI Center as they defeated the No. 5 seed Warner Royals (25-16, 25-13, 25-17) in the semifinal round of The Sun Conference Tournament to advance to the championship match Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
Taylor Martin and Jordan Holcomb dominated the Eagle attack, contributing 13 kills a piece and eight and nine digs, respectively, while The Sun Conference Player of the Year Abby Hall added seven kills and seven digs. Middle blocker Gloria Kemp picked up seven kills as well and hit .429 for the match.
The Eagles will face No. 2 seed SCAD, who defeated No. 3 seed Webber in the other semifinal. The championship match will take place on Saturday afternoon in the ICI Center at 2 p.m.
The winner of the tournament will earn the league's automatic bid to the NAIA national championship.
