Eagles Defeat Lions, 3-0

OPA LOCKA, Fla. -- The Eagles volleyball team picked up it's second win on Thursday over conference opponent Florida Memorial in a three-set victory on the road (25-6, 25-9, 25-11).

Embry-Riddle's record moves to 2-0 in conference play and 2-0 overall. Florida Memorial is now 0-1 on the season.

Taylor Martin highlighted the match with five of the team's 16 service aces. Hannah Rasmussen (4), Savannah Trakes (3), Adriana Vazquez (2), and Jordan Holcomb (2) each contributed to the total.

The Eagles had 33 kills and only seven errors, hitting .351 for the match. Martin led all hitters with seven kills, while Abby Hall and Gloria Kemp each tallied six kills. Rebecca Heller contributed five kills and three blocks for the Eagles.

On the defensive end, Samantha Savallo recorded five digs in only two sets in her first match wearing the Blue and Gold, while Rasmussen saw action in her first set of the season, tallying five digs and four service aces.

The Eagles will continue play on the road as they take on the St. Thomas Bobcats and the Ave Maria Gyrenes on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Game time is slated for 7 p.m. tomorrow night and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
