DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Embry-Riddle women's tennis team evened its 2010 record at 5-3 with a 7-2 defeat of NCAA II Tampa on Friday. The Eagles won two doubles and five of six singles contests to hand the Spartans their fifth loss of the season.

Natasa Zoricic and Yi Ching Chen made quick work of Kourtney Stark and Megan Mancini, downing the Tampa duo 8-0 at No. 1 doubles. ERAU's Josefine Strom and Julija Stojkovska followed with an 8-2 win over Molly Welsh and Nikol Williams to make the score 2-0 in favor of the Eagles, but the Spartans got a point back when Briana Ryan and Ally Wooten came from behind to top Sara Abraul and Caroline Nilsson 8-6 at the third doubles spot.

Chen was the first to finish her singles match as she blanked Williams 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2.  Nilsson quickly followed with a shutout of her own, downing Welsh at the third position. Strom scored the clincher for the Blue and Gold after taking the first set 6-2 and shutting out Wooten 6-0 in the second.
