DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Embry-Riddle softball team lost both ends of a doubleheader to visiting NCAA II Rollins on Saturday afternoon at the Daytona State College Softball Complex, ERAU's temporary home field for the 2015 season. The Tars took game one, 6-1, before winning the second, 12-3 in five innings. The defeats move ERAU's record to 0-4, while RC goes to 2-0.

Game 1 - RC 6, ERAU 1

Embry-Riddle opened the scoring in the second inning when Heuer singled home Barraco, who had doubled off the left-field wall with two outs. Kelsey McDonnell followed with a walk but Kailah Rain struck out to end the inning, stranding Heuer and McDonnell.

The Tars came right back with two runs in the third, scoring on RBI base hits from Hailee Keisling and Chelsea Reed.

Rollins added three in the fourth on a two-run triple from Kranz, who then scored on a base hit from Rose Stevens.

Durbin made it a 6-1 game with a run-scoring infield single in the sixth, scoring Kranz.

Rae Heuer went 1-for-1 with an RBI and a pair of walks and Anna Battison was 2-for-4 for the Eagles.

Robi Zimmerman (0-2) took the loss, allowing five runs (three earned) on seven hits in four innings pitched. Taylor Cowan was effective out of the bullpen, tossing three innings, giving up just one run on one hit.

Jule Kranz was 1-for-2 with a triple, two runs and two RBIs while Courtney Durbin went 2-for-4 with a stolen base, run scored and RBI

Niki Fogle (1-0) earned the complete game victory, allowing one run on six hits, striking out seven and walking three.

Game 2 - RC 12, ERAU 3 (5 inn.)

The Tars got on the board early as Reed singled home two runs in the first to make it a 2-0 game after a half-inning of play.

Embry-Riddle countered with a big first inning, scoring three times. Zimmerman knocked in Battison with an RBI double for the first run, and two batters later Barraco doubled home Zimmerman to tie the game at two. Just a couple pitches later, Haleigh Lewis came home on a wild pitch to put the Blue and Gold in front, 3-2.

The lead would prove to be short-lived as Rollins came back with a five-run second, keyed by a three-run home run from Hannah Horwath, putting the Tars ahead, 7-3.

RC added four more in the third thanks to RBI hits from Sid Masso and Keisling and a two-run single from Durbin to make it an 11-3 game.

The Tars tacked on one more run in the fourth and held the Eagles scoreless through the fifth to earn the 12-3 win.

Zimmerman and Barraco each went 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI for the Eagles.

Bianco (0-2) took the loss, allowing 11 runs (four earned) on nine hits in three innings of work.

Keisling led the Rollins offense, going 2-for-2 with a double, two RBIs and three runs scored, while Durbin and Horwath each knocked in three runs.

Tiffany Osmanski (1-0) got the complete game win, allowing three unearned runs on three hits with four strikeouts and no walk. Osmanski also was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI at the plate.
