DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle women's basketball team notched its 13th Sunshine State Conference win of the season with a hard-fought 63-58 victory over Lynn at the ICI Center on Wednesday. Playing in their first game at home in three weeks, the Eagles improved their overall record to 19-2 and continue to top the league standings with a 13-1 SSC ledger.

• The Eagles are 13th in the latest WBCA Coaches' Poll and eighth in the most recent D2 CSC Media Poll.
• Saturday's win completed the Eagles' season sweep of the Fighting Knights.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter
• A slow start for both teams resulted in a 4-3 edge for the Fighting Knights after four and a half minutes of play.
• Coming out of the media timeout, Lynn extended its cushion to 6-3, but a 10-3 run led to the Eagles taking over the lead, 13-9.
• The Eagles were able to maintain the four-point advantage and led 16-12 heading into the second quarter.
Second Quarter
• The Eagles built the lead up to seven (23-16), but went through a three-minute scoring drought that helped Lynn reduce the deficit to three points.
• A pair of
Mary Lengemann free throws gave the Blue and Gold a six-point cushion, but Lynn edged the Eagles 4-2 in the last 1:53, and at the half the score was 28-24 in favor of the Eagles.
Third Quarter
• The Fighting Knights tied the score early in the third quarter, but the Eagles outscored Lynn 9-3 over the next three minutes to reclaim a six-point lead (37-31).
• The Fighting Knights, behind a series of three-pointers from Mocadlo and Makayla Hemingway, tied the score again (42-42) with 2:28 left in the period.
• The Eagles scored the last four points of the quarter to lead 46-42.
Fourth Quarter
• The Eagles came out firing to start the fourth quarter scoring on their first three possessions to extend their lead to 10 points (52-42).
• Lynn battled back with an 12-2 run of their own and with 3:49 left to play the score was tied at 54-54.
• At the 3:22 mark, Napoli hit a clutch three to put the Eagles back in front and Lengemann went two-for-two from the free throw line to give the Eagles a little breathing room at 59-54.
• The Fighting Knights were able to close the gap once again (59-58), but free throws by Napoli and
Chandler Brooks sealed the win for the Eagles.
NEXT UP
The Eagles will have a week to prepare for their next game, which will be at the ICI Center against Florida Southern at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 12.
