Women's Rowing Qualifies For NCAA Championship, Looking to Defend National Title

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Embry-Riddle women's rowing found out on Tuesday evening that they will be competing in the NCAA Division II Women's Rowing Championship for the sixth consecutive season. They will head to Gainesville, Georgia as the reigning national champions where they will compete Friday, May 29, and Saturday, May 30.

Six teams will compete at the championship regatta. ERAU enters as the No. 4 overall seed in both the Varsity Four and Varsity Eight. Friday morning features two heats per event, with seeds No. 1, 4, and 5 racing together, followed immediately by seeds No. 2, 3, and 6. The winner of each heat advances directly to Saturday's final, while the remaining four boats return Friday afternoon to compete for the final two at-large spots.

There will be just one race for each boat on Saturday and the team scores will be tallied after the races, with the Varsity Eight race holding more weight than then Varsity Four. The seeding for each boat classification is as follows:
