Women's Rowing Has Three Student-Athletes Named to All-SSC Teams

| By:
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Aria Moses, Abby Webb, and Lauren Hoffman were each named to an All-SSC Rowing Team, the league office announced on Monday. Moses and Webb earned a spot on the All-SSC First Team, with Hoffman being recognized on the All-Freshman/Novice team. The All-SSC team included nine rowers from the five teams around the league, while the All-Freshman team included the best newcomer from each school.

Moses, a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native, helped lead the Varsity Eight to a fourth consecutive conference title as they finished with a time of 7:01.1 at this year's SSC Championships (April 24), more than a dozen seconds ahead of the next closest boat. With the senior as a consistent member of the V8+, the boat was named as the SSC Boat of the Week in four out of the possible six weeks this season.

Webb, who is the only individual in the conference to be recognized as an All-SSC rower for the third consecutive year, sat in the No. 2 seat all year for the Eagles, leading the team to a handful of impressive finishes. Most notably, the V8+ won their race at the Knecht Cup (April 12) as well as taking home a gold medal at the Sarasota 2K (March 28). At the Knecht Cup, Webb and the rest of the V8+ crossed the line at 7:31.69, finishing ahead of Bryant University and the University of Pittsburgh. During the Sarasota 2K, Embry-Riddle was able to finish directly ahead of Florida Tech and Rollins, recording a time of 7:47.82.

Hoffman, in her first season with the Eagles, out of Roanoke, Virginia, made an immediate impact on the team and has spent time both in the V4+ and V8+ boat. Her first competition came back on November 8 at the Florida Fall Invite, when Hoffman earned a pair of wins in the V4+. First, in a 5,000-meter race, Hoffman helped lead the boat to a 20:58.74 finish, before returning to the water for a 1,000-meter race where the Eagles needed just 4:57.70 seconds to cross the finish line. Since the start of the calendar year, Hoffman has been in the V8+ boat.

The Blue and Gold are now preparing for the NCAA National Championships which will take place on May 29-30 in Gainesville, Georgia at Lake Lanier. ERAU enters as the No. 4 seed in both the Varsity Four and Varsity Eight race.
