LAKELAND, Fla. – Embry-Riddle wrapped up the 2026 season on Saturday afternoon, falling to Florida Southern in a 10-inning heartbreaker in Lakeland, Fla.
The Eagles remained in control for most of the contest but gave away five runs in the bottom of the seventh to allow the Mocs to extend the game into extra innings. Florida Southern took advantage of the extra play, scoring six of the 11 runs in innings eight through ten.

HOW IT HAPPENED
1st Inning:
- Leah Oberkehr led with a single and promptly stole two bases before Emma Wood drove in the senior outfielder with sac fly.
6th Inning:
- After four scoreless innings, the Eagles added another in the sixth.
- Shelby Morse doubled to lead off the inning and advanced to third on a flyout.
- Gianna Domenici doubled down the left field line, plating Morse for the 2-0 lead.
7th Inning:
- ERAU shifted to a five-run edge in the seventh as Kendall Wilkie doubled from lead-off position to get things started.
- A bunt single and a stolen base from Oberkehr put a pair of runners in scoring position before a two-RBI single from Wood moved the ERAU lead to four.
- Addison Orr followed with a two-out single to drive in Wood, giving the Eagles a five-run lead.
- Florida Southern put together four hits to plate five runs in the bottom half, capped by a grand slam from Hannah Lewis forcing extra innings.
8th Inning:
- The Eagles moved to a 6-5 edge thanks to a fielder's choice sac bunt from Oberkehr.
- FSC answered in the bottom half to continue the contest with an RBI single.
9th Inning:
- The ninth inning proved to be an explosive effort for both ERAU and FSC's bats as each team scored four runs apiece, furthering the contest.
- A two-out RBI double from Riley Sullivan plated the first before a three-run blast from Wilkie boosted the Eagles' advantage to 10-6.
- Florida Southern immediate got to work, hitting a leadoff homer before eventually plating two from an RBI single and another on base hit to equalize at 10-10.
10th Inning:
- After holding Embry-Riddle scoreless, Florida Southern walked-off the game in the 10th inning with a single, sac bunt, walk, and an RBI base hit for the 11-10 win.
INSIDE THE STATS
- Embry-Riddle finished with a season-high 18 hits, including five doubles for a .400 (18-of-45) batting average.
- The Eagles posted six extra-base hits led by Wilkie with a homer and a double.
- Morse went 3-for-6 at the plate as with Domenici going 3-for-4.
- Wood and Wilkie led ERAU with three RBI each.
- Oberkehr stole three bases to round out her season total at 46 and her career to 118.
- The ERAU defense turned two double plays for the second time this season
