#20 Women's Soccer Begins SSC Season with Goalless Draw at Eckerd

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — There was nothing to separate Embry-Riddle (4-0-3, 0-0-1) and Eckerd (3-1-2, 0-0-1) after 90 minutes on Saturday night at Johnson Field, ending the match in a 0-0 draw. Stella Roane finished with six saves, including four in the first half, on her way to her third consecutive clean sheet. The Tritons held a 12-2 advantage in shots and put six on goal, while the Eagles took both of their shots and earned a pair of corner kicks in the second half.
First Half
Roane was called in to action early in the contest with her first save coming at 2:46, before making a second save at 7:31. ERAU was able to keep the Tritons off the board despite Eckerd taking all nine shots. Eckerd took five shots between 16:06 and 26:46, but only one of those shots forced a save from Roane.
Second Half
The Tritons took the first shot of the half at 57:41, but the Eagles would start to grow into the game after that point. Embry-Riddle earned the first corner of the game at 60:36 and saw Lisa Elowsson take the team's first shot at 62:19. Roane's sixth and final save came with 67:25 on the clock as she denied Jillian Doerger a goal. The Blue and Gold continued to battle until the end with Berglind Thrastardottir having the team's best chance of the night in the final ten seconds of the game, but her effort went narrowly wide of the near post on the last kick of the game.
