Biography

2012: Name a Sun Conference Gold Glove winner as a catcher, and was also named The Sun Conference Champions of Character Award winner...earned Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete distinction...committed just three errors behind the plate for ERAU for a .992 fielding percentage...threw out 18 runners trying to steal...hit .255 on 40 hits, 11 of which went for extra-bases, including three home runs...recorded 21 RBIs...hit a three-run homer against Warner (Feb. 10)...also collected three RBIs with a trio of sacrifice flies against Indiana Tech (Mar. 11)...Academic All-Sun Conference selection.

2011: Won a three-way battle for the starting catcher position...started in 46 of the 53 games he played in...hit .290 with 38 hits and 21 RBIs on the season...had seven doubles and two homers...led the team with 11 HPBs...sported a .413 on-base percentage...second on the team with 277 putouts...made just nine errors in 340 chances for a .974 fielding percentage behind the plate...drove in three runs in each game of a doubleheader against Southeastern (Mar 5)...finished 4-for-5 with a homer and two RBI against SCAD Savannah (Apr. 22)...was a perfect 3-for-3 with an RBI and run scored on a long ball versus Thomas (Apr. 10).

At Belmont: Hit .250 in 17 games as a freshman…had an on-base percentage of .321…member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Prep: 2009 graduate of Trinity Prep School…started at catcher for three seasons under Coach Derek Wolfe…hit .443 during his senior season…started at catcher on the 2007 FHSAA 3A state runner-up squad…four-year starter in football for TPS…earned the Joe Braddy Coach’s Award in 2009 and the Coaches’ Award in football during the 2006 season…captained both his baseball and football teams his senior year…National Honor Society member…Canon R. Haye Leadership Award winner…also played for the Orlando Scorpions from 2007-08.

Personal: Born in Marietta, Ga. on May 10, 1991…son of Lisa and Vince Cellini...has volunteered for Habitat for Humanity…coached baseball at Trinity Prep Camp and Belmont’s Parkwood Clinics…was a peer tutor for speech classes at Belmont...majoring in Communication.
