Ellie Staker capped her illustrious career by winning a national championship in her senior year. Â The Seattle, Washington product finished first in the 800m final at the 2015 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships.

Staker entered the event with the fastest 800m time of the year in the NAIA. She moved from the middle of the pack to take the lead at the beginning of the race's second lap and maintained that position for the rest of the race. The event's second place finisher, Hannah Segrave of Milligan, tried to make a push for the top spot throughout the final 150m of the race, but Staker was able to hold her off to claim the first 800m national title in program history.
