Biography

2011: Honorable Mention All-American...first team All-Conference honoree...first on the team in RBIs (63), total bases (143), slugging percentange (.598) doubles (22) and home runs (9)...second on the team in batting average (.368), hits (88), and triples (3), and third on the team in runs scored (58)...ranked third in the NAIA in total assists with 201 and third in the nation in assists per game (3.24)...was an impressive 21-for-23 in steal attempts...led the team in multiple-hit games (29), as well as multiple-RBI games (18)...set an Embry-Riddle record with his 143 total bases...went 2-for-5 with four RBI in a win against Northwood (Apr. 2)...was 4-for-5 with an inside-the-park home run and four RBI in a victory over South Carolina-Beaufort in The Sun Conference tournament (May 3)...drove in three runs in the final game of the NAIA National Championship Opening Round against Brewton-Parker (May 14)...recorded multiple hits in eight of ERAU’s nine 2011 postseason contests.

2009-10 at Nebraska: Became the first true freshman since 2002 to own the starting shortstop position…hit .253 with 23 RBI and a .952 fielding percentage during his rookie campaign…averaged .242 with 31 hits and 15 RBI during 2009 as the starting shortstop for the Huskers…named to the Big 12 Commisioner’s Honor Roll in 2008.

Prep: 2007 graduate of Omaha Central High School…was one of the top prospects in the Midwest playing for Coach Steve Russell at…garnered first team, All-State honors in both 2006 and 2007…helped lead Central to a district title and its first state playoff berth since 1983 as a senior, hitting .458 with six homers, seven triples and 35 RBI…chosen as the Nebraska Perfect Game USA Player of the Year and was tabbed as a first-team All-District V selection by the National High School Baseball Coaches Association…rated by Baseball America as the No. 2 high school prospect in the state for the 2007 Draft…named the MVP of the 2007 Collin-Orcutt Memorial All-Star Game…selected as a first team All-State pick in 2006 when he hit .400 with five homers and 24 RBI…chosen to play in the 2006 USA Baseball Tournament of Stars event …multi-sport standout who was a finalist for Lincoln Journal Star Male High School Athlete of the Year and was also nominated for the Wendy’s High School Heisman…played four years of basketball, helping Omaha Central to consecutive Class A state titles…averaged 12 points and five rebounds per game en route to third team All-State accolades as a senior…averaged 14 points per game as a junior to help Central to its first state crown since 1975…carried better than a 4.0 GPA throughout his high school career and collected Academic All-State honors in both baseball and basketball from the Lincoln Journal Star.
