Ryan Welsh joined the Embry-Riddle baseball team as an assistant coach prior to the 2022 season. Welsh, a native of Windermere, Florida, played at Sunshine State Conference member Florida Southern (2016-17) before graduating in 2020 from UCF with a degree in Entertainment Management. Welsh played his prep ball at West Orange High School in Winter Garden, earning All-Metro honors as a senior; as well as playing at Dr. Phillips High School, also earning All-Metro accolades during his sophomore campaign. Welsh was also a member of the Orlando Scorpions Prime team that won back-to-back national championships in 2013 and 2014.
Since graduating, Welsh has coached at his alma mater West Orange as the varsity pitching coach, and was most recently a head coach in the Florida Collegiate Summer League.
