As A Junior in 2009: Took the year off to concentrate on academics...completed his undergraduate degree in Aeronautical Science with a minor in Communications in May.

As A Sophomore in 2008: Played in 50 games...used primarily as a courtesy runner for the catcher...scored 45 runs...had two hits in three plate appearances...fifth in the league in stolen bases with 16...entered the game as a pinch hitter against St. Francis (Mar. 11) and recorded a hit and scored a run in his only at-bat...also got a hit against Thomas (Apr. 26).

Prep: A 2004 graduate of Whitney M. Young Magnet Prep School...earned two letters in baseball...hit .400 with 35 stolen bases during his senior year.

Personal: Born in Chicago, Ill. on Feb. 9, 1986...son of Juventino and Maria Meza...pursuing a Master of Business Administration...worked with youth groups and coached Little League teams during his summers in Chicago...a member of the Embry-Riddle cheerleading squad in 2006-07.
