UC Davis: A key member of the Aggies’ team that participated in the 2003 NCAA Division II World Series...had a 3-1 record with a 5.25 ERA in 2004...pitched 48 innings in 12 appearances with eight starts...had 27 strikeouts in 2004.

Prep: A 2002 graduate of Santa Cruz High School where he played for Bob Kittle...had 25 wins in his tenure at SCHS...a three-time All-League and All-State selection...played for the Santa Cruz Mets during the summer season under head coach Brian Feduk.

Personal: The son of Mike and Karen Bearden of Santa Cruz, Calif....born Sept. 20, 1983...majoring in Aeronautical Science.
