Biography

Guilliams Notes: "Josh is a lead-off type hitter who possesses all the physical tools, to excel in centerfield and in the leadoff spot. Like Kevin Haney ('05), he's not your prototypical leadoff guy from the standpoint of being somebody who just slaps the ball and runs. He's got some strength and power so he gives us a threat from the very first batter of the game. I think fans will appreciate his aggressive style of play and passion for the game."

At High Point: Appeared in 55 games with a .229 batting average (44-for-192) with two homers and 13 RBI for coach Sal Bando's Panthers...was third on the club in stolen bases with 10 in 2005? played summer ball for the Indianapolis OneCrown in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League?captured the league's stolen base crown with 28 in 2004 and hit .398 to capture the 2005 batting crown?three-time All-Star Game MVP and 2005 first team All-League selection.

High School: Attended Northview High School in Sylvania, Ohio and played four seasons of baseball for coach Kevin Dansiezen?led the team with a .402 batting average as a senior?racked up second-team All-Northern Lakes League honors and led the league in hitting and stolen bases (20)?was also a standout in basketball averaging 14 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals per game in his senior season?received first-team All-Conference and second-team All-District honors?named the team MVP and Channel 13 Athlete of the Week?recipient of the Memorial Athletic Scholarship and the Most Improved GPA Scholarship in 2002?played two summers for the Midwest Mavericks 18 and under team.
