2022: Became the first-ever five-time All-Conference runner in program history after earning first team All-SSC accolades for the fourth time in his career with a fourth-place finish at the SSC Championship (Nov. 5)...also earned SSC All-Championship honors and NCAA II All-South Region accolades...placed 17th overall at the NCAA II South Region Championship (Nov. 19) in his career-best 10K time of 31:38.8.
2021-22: First Team CoSIDA Academic All-American...SSC All-Championship Team and First Team All-SSC performer with a third-place finish at the SSC Championships (Oct. 23)...ran the 14th-fastest 8K time in school history at the UAH Invitational (Oct. 9)...posted the second-fastest 10K time in school history (32:03.7) at the NCAA II National Championships (Nov. 20)...NCAA II All-South Region thanks to a 14th-place finish at the NCAA II South Region Championships (Nov. 6).
2020-21: CoSIDA Academic All-District. CROSS COUNTRY: First Team All-SSC and SSC All-Championship Team performer with a fifth-place finish at the SSC Championship (Feb. 27) in 26:28.22...SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll...best time of the season was 26:09 at the Daytona Dual (Jan. 30).
2019-20: CoSIDA Academic All-American...CoSIDA Academic All-District. CROSS COUNTRY: First team All-Sunshine State Conference and an All-Championship team member thanks to a third-place showing at the SSC Championship (Oct. 26) in 25:41.6...ERAU's top finisher in three races, including top honors at the ASICS Embry-Riddle Classic (Sept. 21) in 25:53.7 after which he was named the SSC Runner of the Week...finished in the top-15 of all six meets of the season...ran the best 10K time of his career at the NCAA II South Regional (Nov. 9) in 32:39.5, placing 11th and earning All-South Region accolades...USTFCCCA All-Academic Team...SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient. 2018-19: CROSS COUNTRY: SSC Freshman of the Year...first team All-SSC and an All-Championship team member after a ninth-place finish at the SSC Championship (Nov. 3) in 26:08.34...All-Region honoree thanks to a 16th-place finish at the NCAA II South Region (Nov. 17)...led the Eagles in three races, winning back-to-back SSC Runner of the Week honors, including after he became the eighth-fastest 8K runner in program history at the Mountain Dew Invitational (Sept. 22) with a 24:51.52...had four top-10 finishes. INDOOR: Competed in three meets…set personal best in the 5000m with a time of 14:57.18 to finish second at the Carolina Challenge (Feb. 2)…clocked career bests in the mile (4:24.20) and 3000m (8:39.53) at the USC Open Indoor (Feb. 16)…named All-South Region in the 3000m and 5000m by the USTFCCCA.
Prep: 2018 graduate of Highlands Christian Academy...finished second at the 2017 FHSAA 1A Cross Country State Championship...placed third in the two-mile at the 2017 FHSAA Track & Field State Championship...graduated as the school record-holder in the mile, 1600m, 3200m and 5k.
Personal: Born in Boca Raton, Florida...married to former ERAU cross country and track athlete Kara Funke...parents are Craig and Brenda Szklany...majoring in Aerospace Engineering.
