Nils Carlson

Former Embry-Riddle goalkeeper Nils Carlson will be serving as the goalkeeping coach for both the men's and women's soccer programs in 2015.

Carlson played four years for the ERAU men’s soccer team and was the Eagles’ starting goalkeeper in each of his four seasons wearing the Blue and Gold. He helped the Eagles to conference regular season titles in 2011 and 2013, and an NAIA National Championship appearance in 2013.

Originally from Vastra, Sweden, Carlson closed out his ERAU career as one of the Eagles’ top five goalkeepers of all time in four categories, including shutouts (1st, 25), minutes played (2nd, 6,461), saves (3rd, 302) and goals against average (5th, 1.11).

Carlson was recognized for his accomplishments both on and off the field. A two-time first team All-Sun Conference selection, he was tabbed as the league’s Defensive Player of the Year as a freshman and garnered honorable mention All-America honors that same year. As a senior, he was named to the Academic All-Conference roster and was a CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree.
