Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Athletics

As a Junior in 2013: NAIA Scholar-Athlete and Academic All-Sun Conference honoree…named an Embry-Riddle Champions of Character Scholarship recipient for the second straight year…appeared in 16 games with eight starts as a junior…recorded four shots from the midfield position.

As A Sophomore in 2012: Academic All-Conference…awarded a 2013-14 Embry-Riddle Champions of Character Scholarship… named to the ERAU Athletics President’s team, which recognizes student-athletes with a 3.5 or better GPA for the academic year…one of only five Eagle players to start in all 17 contests…attempted two shots on the year as a defensive midfielder.
 
As A Freshman in 2011: Secured a starting spot as a defensive midfielder in his freshman campaign…one of only four players to start in all 20 contests…registered his only point of the year on an assist against Webber International (Oct. 1).
 
Prep: 2009 graduate of Flagler Palm Coast High School…All-Region and All-State selection…named team captain…recognized as the team’s Most Valuable Player…led the Bulldogs to back-to-back undefeated campaigns in his junior and senior seasons…also played club soccer for Orlando F.C. and Florida ODP from 2005-09…played on the United States National Team at the U12, U14 and U15 levels from 2002-05...named to the Academic Honor Roll…National Honor Society.
 
Personal: Born in Santa Monica, Calif. on Mar. 1, 1991…parents are Alexander and Yolanda Alvarez…majoring in Business Administration…volunteered with Habitat for Humanity.
