As A Junior in 2012: NAIA All-America Scholar-Athlete…Academic All-Conference honoree…named to the Capital One All-America second team…CoSIDA Academic All-District first team selection…recipient of a 2013-14 Embry-Riddle Champions of Character Scholarship… named to the ERAU Athletics President’s team, which recognizes student-athletes with a 3.5 or better GPA for the academic year…started in all 14 of the matches he played in…attempted just two shots on the year.

As A Sophomore in 2011: Awarded an ERAU Champions of Character Scholarship…recipient of the team’s Scholar-Athlete Award…played in 17 matches with eight starts.
 
As A Freshman in 2010: Worked his way into the Eagles’ first 11, starting in 14 of his 15 appearances…totaled two points on a pair of assists…both assists came against Johnson and Wales on Oct. 23.

Prep: Graduated from University High School in Orlando, Fla. in 2010…earned three varsity letters playing soccer for Coach Keri Heedum…captained the Cougars to district runner-up honors in his junior and senior seasons…named team MVP as a junior and a senior…named Orange County First Team All-Metro in 2009 and 2010…Florida All-State and Orange County Senior All-Star selection as a senior…recipient of the Orange County All-Academic Award in 2010…also played with the Orlando United (2002-03), Greater Osceola United (2004-07), Orland Futbol (2008-10) and Maitland Arsenal United (2010) club teams.

Personal: Born in Medellin, Colombia on July 26, 1992…son of Gustavo Velasquez and Beatriz Naranjo…majoring in Aerospace Engineering…the men’s soccer representative on ERAU’s Student-Athlete Leadership Team.
