2019 (Sophomore): Named to the Sunshine State Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll…also named to the SSC All-Tournament team…recipient of the first ERAU Athletics Rita Campos Heart of an Eagle scholarship…played and started in 17 games…helped anchor an Eagle back line that recorded eights shutouts and a 0.9 goals against average.
2018 (Freshman): Sunshine State Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll selection…saw action in nine contests on the Eagles’ back line…drew six starts.
Prep: Graduated from Lake Nona High School in 2018…played for coaches Cheryl Watson and Heather Jaramillo…scored 16 career goals in four seasons as a defender…three-time All-Metro first team selection…led the Lions to the 2016 and 2018 district championship and the 2018 regional final…named to the 2018 Senior All-Star team…three-time LNHS Defender of the Year.
Personal: Born in Medellin, Colombia…parents are Gustavo Velasquez and Beatriz Naranjo…brother Luis was a four-year letterwinner with the ERAU men’s soccer team…majoring in Mechanical Engineering…volunteered as a tutor for elementary school students…also volunteered to help train service dogs.
