2009 Women's Soccer Roster
Biography
Jessi Ross is entering her fourth season with the Embry-Riddle Women’s Soccer program, her third as team manager. The 2008 campaign saw Ross take on a different role with the team as the native of Midlothian, Va. transitioned from being a player to assuming the responsibilities of a team manager.
Ross joined the team as a walk-on in 2007 and was used primarily off the bench. She played in five games, making her ERAU debut against Lambuth on Sept. 1. Following an off-season injury, she opted not to return to the field of play, but indicated her desire to continue to be involved with the program to Coach Baggett Bohon who assigned her the role of team manager without hesitation.
“Jessi has an incredible heart,” Baggett Bohon said. “I appreciate her for the person she is and the players really enjoy having her as a teammate. As a player she worked incredibly hard before practice, after practice, in mornings on her own. I know she’ll bring that work ethic to her new role with the team.”
Ross graduated from Midlothian High School in 2007 where she earned four letters in basketball and two in softball. She played forward for the basketball team and was named team captain as a senior. She won the Coach’s Award in 2007 and was also awarded the Midlothian High School Sports Boosters Scholarship for her dedication to the high school’s athletic department. Ross is majoring in Aerospace Studies and expects to graduate in 2011.
