Vitaly Zhgun

Vitaly Zhgun is in his first season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Embry-Riddle track and field program, working with the throwers.
 
Vitaly graduated from Texas A&M University-Kingsville where he was a three-year letterwinner on the Javelina track and field team, competing primarily in the javelin. A three-time All-American with a personal-best mark of 72.54m, he was, a three-time All-Lone Star Conference and USTFCCCA All-Region selection and was named to the TAMUK’s Men’s Outdoor Track & Field All-Decade team. In 2018, he earned USTFCCCA First Team All-America honors following a third-place finish at the NCAA II Outdoor Championships, which helped the Javelinas to the first NCAA II Outdoor National Title in school history. He is a USATF Level 1 Certified Coach.
 
Vitaly is currently pursuing his MBA in Aviation at Embry-Riddle and was named ERAU’s Athletics Business Manager in December 2024.
