Karesa Burr

Burr was hired as Embry-Riddle Athletics' Athletic Business Manager in 2025, and she brings decades of financial experience with her to Embry-Riddle after a three-and-a-half year stint at Pittsburg State University Athletics as the Gorillas's athletics accounting specialist. While there, she was responsible for all fiscal matters concerning the athletics department on a day-to-day basis and provided competent fiscal management within the athletics program as well as accounting support.

Prior to that, Burr served as the director of Athletic Internal Operations and the Senior Women's Administrator at Missouri Southern State University Athletics from 2017 to 2021. Her responsibilities included acting as a liaison between the Athletics Director, Budgeting Director, and Human Resources regarding all Human Resources related areas such as employment contract renewals, hiring procedures, job descriptions, determining classifications, and other onboarding procedures. She also managed all operational and internal administrative functions for the athletic department. 

Burr initially joined the Lions as an Athletic Secretary in 2007 and remained in that position until 2013 when she was promoted to Athletic Business Manager. She created and managed accounting procedures for game day concessions and ticket sales for the athletic department and processed deposits for game day revenues while also working with the University's Director of Purchasing to issue requests for proposals for multi-year contracts for apparel, bus transportation, and pouring rights.

She is married to Chris Burr and has three children: Nathan, Mitchel (Megan), and Calvin (Maegan). They have six grandchildren: Brooke, Brock, Brette, Briella, Becklyn, and Kenzie.
