The Sunshine State Conference announced senior Jessica Christa Wira Hadipoernomo as the 2024-25 SSC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year on Wednesday. Wira Hadipoernomo, who closed out her career with the Embry-Riddle women's tennis team in 2024-25, follows in the footsteps of Isabelle Navren who was selected Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2022-23 and 2023-24.

The Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards are voted on by Athletic Directors, Senior Woman Administrators, Athletic Communication Directors, and Faculty Athletic Representatives from each of the 11 SSC member institutions. Wira Hadipoernomo is the sixth women's tennis athlete to be recognized since conference administrators established and the first in 10 years.

Wira Hadipoernomo holds the distinction of receiving no grade less than an "A" throughout her entire collegiate career. Hailing from Semarang, Indonesia, she posted a 4.0 GPA in her undergraduate degree in computational mathematics and completed her master's in data science with a perfect GPA.

The women's tennis representative and 2024-25 treasurer for the Embry-Riddle Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Wira Hadipoernomo racked numerous academic awards in her time at Embry-Riddle. She was named a 2024-25 CSC First Team Academic All-American, was a four-time ITA Scholar-Athlete, two-time D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award and CSC Academic All-District honoree and appeared on the Sunshine State Commissioner's Honor Roll honors four times. In 2024, she received one of NCAA II tennis' highest honors when she was awarded the ITA/NCAA II Arthur Ashe Award for Leadership and Sportsmanship. She has also earned a myriad of scholarships at Embry-Riddle, including the Student-Athlete Transformational Scholarship, the Eagles of Excellence Scholarship and the prestigious Shrinivas Dalal Memorial Scholarship.

Wira Hadipoernomo also left her mark on the tennis court. With a 26-6 singles record in 2024-25, she vaulted into the second spot for singles wins in a single season at Embry-Riddle and closed out her career as the Eagles' all-time leader in singles victories with 82. She was named to the All-SSC team twice and was ranked as high as 17th nationally in singles.

The epitome of Embry-Riddle's "Student, Person, Player" mantra, Wira Hadipoernomo was also engaged on campus and in the community. She served as a research assistant, a chemistry tutor and a career support ambassador in addition to holding leadership positions in Launch Christian Ministries and the International Student Organization. She also coordinated donations to the Volusia Thanksgiving Basket Brigade, volunteered with the Sugar Mill Botanical and Honors Program Community gardens, Daytona Beach Arts Fest, Council on Aging, Adopt-A-Block, and the Easterseals "Walk with Me" event for children with autism, and assisted local churches with property clean-up, event preparation, and helping elderly members in need.
