Charlie Harris

Charlie Harris joined the Embry-Riddle staff as an Assistant Track and Field coach in August 2013. Harris graduated from Florida State University in 1974 with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education.
    
Harris boasts over 30 years of experience in Track & Field. He got his start as an Assistant Track Coach at Seminole Community College and then moved to Assistant Track Coach at Lyman High School until 1979. From 1989-96 Harris was the Youth Chairman of the Florida Association of United States Track and Field. He went on to serve as Executive Vice President has been the Chair of the Florida Association of United States Track and Field. Since 2000, Harris has been the Head Coach of Boys Track and the Boys and Girls Head Cross Country Coach at Lake Brantley High School in Altamonte Springs, Fla.
  
Harris has been honored as the Coach of the Year seventeen times at Lake Brantley. He was named the Florida High School Cross Country Coach of the Year in 1998, was inducted into the Florida Track and Field Hall of Fame in 2002, and in 2012 was named the FACA Track and Field Coach of the Year. Prior to his start in coaching, Harris was an All-State honoree in the Long Jump in 1970, was a National Junior College All-American in the triple jump in 1972 and in 1974, was named a United States Track and Field All-American in the triple jump.
