DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. ? NCAA I St. Louis handed the Embry-Riddle women's tennis team its sixth loss of the year as the Billikens downed the Eagles 9-0, Saturday at the Crotty Tennis Complex. The win boosts SLU to 7-10, while the Eagles fall to 8-6.
The Billikens won all six singles points to take a 6-0 lead heading into doubles play. Rachel McCullagh was the first to earn a victory, topping Kerinn Meisenbach 6-2, 6-4 at No. 4.
Jo Becker followed with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Marga Rico-Jimenez at No. 5, and Katerina Lozanova was close behind with her 6-3, 6-3 win over Hana Im at the top spot.
After Tara Grant downed Lindsey Kurtz 6-4, 6-2 at the third position, Ana Renda scored the clincher with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Natalie Anaya at No. 2.
SLU then went on to win all three doubles points to seal the win.
The Eagles will be back in action at 10 a.m. on Tuesday when they host No. 8 Southern Nazarene.
